R12,500 FOR THE MINERS

Greetings to you all

Today I'd like us to focus on thousands of those really affected by the platinum belt strikes, many of them have moved from the comfort of their homes, from their loved ones, they've left everything to go and work in these mines which continue to exploit them. Let's face it, those miners have left everything to go and work in order for them to support their loved ones back home, they've given their time, energy and everything to those mines which make millions of rands a year. If the CEO's of those mines can be paid millions of rands per month then the miners deserve a bit more for the work they do. This just shows you how unequal we are as a nation, how selfish we are, how dare we talk about Ubuntu when our own brothers are suffering in those mines. As the strike continues many of them don't even know where their next meal is going to come from, or what their families back home are going to eat tonight, while the children of mining CEO's will definitely dine at the best restaurants the kids of those miners will go to bed without anything. To be releastic, those mines are eventually going to run out of resources in the near future and what next ? What will those miners who've worked hard in those mines have to show once this happens? Would their lives have changed by then? NO! Will paying the miners R12,500 cripple our economy? Is it unrealistic? NO, it's only fair. I mean parliament could legalize the R12,500 for the miners through legislation, which leaves me with this question, is our government really looking out for these miners and their interests?
