LALA NGOXOLO MAMA !

Greetings to you all.

Today marks a very sad for not only the Mbeki family but for South Africa as a whole. It was only yesterday that I wrote my very first blog honouring mama who was in hospital, little did I know that It would be her very last day on earth. We've lost a dedicated political activist, a fighter in her own right, a mother, a servant, a community leader and a true African. Epainette Mbeki better known as "MaMbeki" to the nation passed on during the early hours of today, mama became the second black woman to join the Communist Party of South Africa, after Josie Palmer in 1937 and dedicated her life to the struggle. Should we now view this day as a sad day? My suggestion is that we celebrate her life, mama who turned 98 years old in February ran her race, fought her battles, gave all she had to the nation and it is now time for her to rest peacefully. We thank God for blessing us with such a mother and we thank mama for all that she has done for this beautiful God-given country. We should not forget the morals of Ubuntu of which mama displayed on a daily basis and we shall at all times remember where we come from as black South Africans. What can we possibly learn from this great African mother? We should learn to at all times keep our feet firmly on the ground, to continue working hard and to always fight for what we strongly believe in and to always give back to our communities.
