Dear Mama Winnie Mandela, the mother of our nation, a true African mother and a true activist, you're an inspiration to today's youth and an inspiration to ordinary South Africans on the street. You are an inspiration in the sense that we should never succumb to the status quo and at all times remain focused on the bigger picture. You've shown us that we should at all times fight for what we strongly believe in and never give up. Although you were heavily tortured during the days of apartheid and kept in solitary confinement for 491 days you always remained focused, strong and courageous and kept on fighting. Today we want to honour you, not only for the role you passionately played in the struggle for liberation but for being the mother of our nation. We will at all times portray your fearless character and fight for economic freedom. We will at times honour you, your contribution and your ever touching smile and beautiful heart . May God bless you with many more years to come Mama.
